I get up every morning at 5 to give her breakfast and then hobble back to bed for a few more minutes (read: an hour) of sleep. As soon as she's done inhaling her kibble she bounds back up stairs, leaps across the room and takes her position in bed next to me. Which is this.

Meet Larry

This is Larry the Lobster. Technically he's a crawfish but "Larry the Crawfish" lacks the necessary alliteration to make it catchy. Larry is a magnet whose head and arms are attached with springs, which means that when you hold him you can make him dance. This is very entertaining to someone who is easily amused (oh hi!)

Kima is not so easily amused.

Because apparently telling her once wasn't enough for me, I thought I'd continue to feed her already inflated ego. I mean really, don't you just want to eat her up in this video?

On The Planet, I Say!

It has become clear to me that Kima is indeed the Cutest Puppy on the Planet as decreed by me, the obvious authoritative body on puppy cuteness.

Sure, she has a propensity to jump on me (a trait that I dislike) and pee on the furniture when we have guests (a trait that I despise.) Still, you can't possibly look at this face and not declare "Hot damn! You are the cutest puppy on the planet!" (That's right I used a double negative and YOU CANNOT STOP ME.)

And yes, that is the voice I use to speak to puppies. Don't judge me.

Supervision Required

I should have seen the signs coming here:




But from now on Kima's TV viewing must be strictly supervised. This attack is mild - yesterday I came running in when I heard her throttle the TV into the wall behind it. Silly yoggie.

I discovered these knuckle bones in the ghetto grocery store by the house. They last way longer than a regular bone and she loves them. This thing will keep her occupied for at least four hours!

Edited to add: when I played this video to test it out she dropped the bone and came running to watch! Apparently doggie video is the only thing that trumps the knuckle bone. Too funny.
